So you'd like to share your wedding video with the world! Or more importantly, with your close friends and family on instagram. But how and where do you start, and how do you post it in a way that does justice to the video and makes it look beautiful on your grid? Look no further because I'm about to tell you how!

Step 1: Open your laptop / computer

Sorry, put your phones away, because the only way that you'll be able to download the full HD video and post it all to Instagram is on your laptop/computer.

Step 2: Download your wedding film

A couple kisses at their wedding with colorful flowers; guests throw confetti. Background shows lush greenery and joyful attendees.

If you're a client of mine, I have sent your wedding film via a link on Vimeo. You can download it by clicking on the little download button in the corner of your wedding film, as you can see in orange.

Step 3: Open Instagram & open up "Create"

So make sure you're still on your desktop (not your cellphone!), open your browser and log into Instagram

On the left side, you will see something that says "Create" with a box and a plus. Then click the 'Post' option.

Step 4: Drag your downloaded film into the box

So, that file you downloaded from Vimeo—drop that straight into the pop-up box or select it from your computer.

Step 5: Fix the crop!!!!!!

This is super important! Now that your film is dropped, you'll notice it playing and looking pretty. The only problem here is that if you posted it now, it'll post as a square. Look in the bottom left corner of that video to find that 'select crop' button. After clicking that, select the top option 'original'. Click next.

Step 6: Cover photo

On the right-hand side, you can see the Select cover photo option. You have two options: you can select from your computer—which I suggest you do—and select one of your favorite wedding photos. It shows up really nice and crisp on your Instagram grid. Otherwise, you can use the bar and scroll through your video until you reach a nice still, and you can use that.

Leave trim video, and leave sound on.

Click next.

Step 7: Add description

Add your description, your location if you like, and any other settings you like.

Tag your hubby and don't forget to tag your wedding videographer!

Step 8: Click share!

Leave your browser window on and wait for the circle dance to finish; this can take time. Once it gives the 'post shared', then you're good to go!

Congrats you just shared your wedding video to Instagram!
